I try and make it to breakfast every Saturday morning with some good friends of mine. I like this group because I see the love of Christ in them and they aren't your text book Christians. And because of this, they push me to a spot that I feel is real and alive with the one who I call master. So after hanging out for a bit this morning I came home to a show about the life of Heath Ledger. And here is my point. I blows my mind that we have tv shows dedicated to people lives and the gossip that follows them. WHO CARES!!!! They are people like you and I. Why are we so fascinated with what every move they make. In India they have a system that place people in a higher way of life and it’s a huge issue. The system is call the cass system and if you are borne into the low or middle, the system is made so that you live a lower style of life.
Why do we feel as a society that we have to label people and their way of life. Why is it that if I have a job acting that I will have more of a privilege then other people. It makes no sense to me. If you make a good income and can afford what ever, why is it that your name will get it to you for free. Now please don’t get me wrong, I’m not jealous because of there fame. In fact I feel sorry for them. I was watching London Live on HD TV and they had Fall Out Boy playing a few songs. I have heard of the band but I don’t know anything about them or there songs and I now know why. As I was watching, the lead singer walked on stage and was getting the crowed to cheer for him and then he very rudely made a jester for them to stop so he could set the mode to the song he was starting to play. Who in the hell dose he think he is. You have a few songs that are catchy and you think you can rule the world? And what about all the people that did just what he asked, what tools. I’m sure half of them would have walked off a cliff if the lead singer did just that. I think it’s the Burger King commercial with Puffy Combs that is the best example. That guy is the biggest jack ass and it’s all because of his ego. He tells the guy in the commercial that because he said IT that the people will follow. And it shows just that.
I’m stoked that I have Christ in my life. Every day I’m reminded of how little I am in this sick world and yet my life means the world to him. I’m guilty all the time of what I just got done ranting about but Jesus brings reality back to earth for me. Lord I pray that I seek you for humility. Please remind me that we all are created in your image and that we are all equal. Forgive me for thinking that I have it better or that I’m better then other people because of the idea I hold in my mind of status. I have a friend that always has a smile and never has bad thing to say about anyone. To me, thats Christ living out when we allow him to be the pilot in our life.
